I’m sure I’m not the first person to make the analogy that hunting an ole Tom Turkey is like hunting feathered elk, but there is a lot of truth to it. This is a very exciting hunt and a wonderful time of year to be hunting.
We hunt only private property, and we have a high population of mature birds. We hunt a variety of terrain, meadows, creek bottoms and timbered ridges that provide perfect habitat for both subspecies; Rio Grande & Merriam's. We cater to all types of hunters; whether you are male/female, ages 9 – 90, in perfect health or disabled in some way. We can get you into an “ole long beard” with a shotgun or a bow. We use calling set-ups, decoys and ground blinds to get you into the action. This hunt can also be in combination with a spring bear hunt if you are able to draw the spring bear tag. This is the time of year that we find lots of shed elk antlers, it's fairly common to find sheds while setting up on a long beard.
On this hunt you will be staying at our Cottonwood ranch, with bunk house accommodations. Furnished with; all meals, lodging, transportation during the hunt, guide, care and cleaning of harvested birds.
